The Injector Speed adjustment in eFlexApp is used to modify the enrichment linearity made by the eFlexFuel system.
The "Injector Speed" parameter adjusts injector deadtime, which is essentially the relative "speed" at which injectors open. The shorter the deadtime, the less delay to open ("Faster"); the longer the deadtime, the greater delay to open ("Slower"). Correct deadtime is crucial for accurate fuel delivery, especially at low pulse widths where deadtime constitutes a significant portion of the total pulse width. If injector deadtime is off, fueling will be too lean or rich at idle and low RPMs but normal under load.
Adjusting Injector Speed via eFlexApp
- If the engine is running too lean or too rich at idle and low RPM but fuel trim values are correct while driving, Injector Speed can be adjusted.
- The "Fast" setting corresponds to a shorter deadtime. If the mixture is too lean at idle/low RPM, select the "Fast" speed.
- The "Slow" setting corresponds to a longer deadtime. If the mixture is too rich at idle/low RPM, select the "Slow" speed.
- It is NOT recommended to change the injector speed settings before checking the fuel trim values.
