E85 does not always contain exactly 85 % ethanol. The ethanol content can vary due to:
- Seasonal blends (lower ethanol in winter)
- Different fuel stations
- Mixing gasoline and E85 in the tank
The ethanol sensor measures the actual ethanol percentage in real time. eFlexFuel then automatically adjusts fueling so the engine always runs correctly.
